We did it!!! On Saturday the 28th of May, MonUCS held its first concert in two and a half years!!!! After the difficulties we all endured during the pandemic (including a distinct lack of singing together), everyone at MonUCS feels so privileged to be back performing. We were absolutely thrilled to be able to perform to a full house at Saint John’s East Malvern – over 160 tickets were sold!!! This is a wonderful achievement for the club that we’re all so proud of, and a reflection of how hard we have all worked this semester.
We must extend our thanks to everyone who made this concert a success. Firstly, we want to extend our gratitude to our conductor Lachlan McDonald and accompanist Zac Hamilton-Russell for their brilliant work this semester. Thank you to the staff at Saint John’s for accommodating us in their beautiful church. We also want to send our most sincere thanks to everyone who came along to support MonUCS, including the families and friends of our performers.
Thank you to our wonderful committee for their hard work, and special thanks to some of our senior members who provided such fantastic support and guidance to the committee in planning our first concert. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Finally, to our choristers, thank you so much for all your hard work this semester. This concert would not have been a success if it were not for for your passion and commitment. Congratulations on a wonderful performance!
We hope we will see you all again at MonUCS in semester two! Please keep your eye out for updates about our next rehearsal and concert season.
